Johan also told us about his business, which is his passion. He told us he was single and it was after hosting an exchange student that he decided to use his Rotary network to make a difference to people in his city. As a franchisee owner of KFC he has made it his priority to employ young people with disabilities or challenges of different sorts. His team includes seven refugees from Eritrea who walked for literally years through Africa, to get to a safe haven in Holland.
Johan mentors all of his employees to support them in their lives and proudly told us that all of his managers have 'come up through the ranks' since starting regular employment in his business.
