Rodent Bait Station Checks

A project orginially managed by Tauranga Council, we volunteered to do instead and have for a number of years now. We pair up on a rotational basis and walk about 1.5 kms around a section of land in K Valley (17th Ave) checking rodent bait stations, and adding new baits when necessary.  Keeping rodent numbers in check allows nesting birds in this area a better chance of growing their young.

Our walk takes about an hour and as rodents are not handled in any way, a very pleasant way to spend time in these wetlands.  Volunteers interested in helping are welcome to contact us via our website.
