Rotary Tauranga annual book sale another successful year, another successful sale.
Rotary Tauranga annual book sale was disrupted by Covid-19 lockdown and had to move to Sunday 7 March, Saturday 13, and Sunday 14 March.
As usual, many were waiting well before the doors opened on the first day, keen to purchase their favourite authors. A steady flow of buyers throughout the day kept members and volunteers very busy with books, magazines, DVD's, records, CD's, jigsaws, games and art going out the door. Art, a new edition last year, was well received again this year with many pieces donated and sold.
The following weekend was quieter, many enjoyed the chance to take their time and thoroughly browse the aisles. A number of buyers returned several times, especially on Sunday 14 March to take advantage of the box lot offer.
Feedback was positive, especially from first timers finding we put all fiction into alphabetical order and authors books grouped together. Labelling categories in the non-fiction section was also positively commented on. Our thanks to the team of over 40 members and volunteers making this happen.
Our members and volunteers wish to thank everyone for their help, support and most of all the hundreds of buyers over these days. Another year, another successful sale that has raised funds to be put back into our community. Some of the organisations to receive donations are Waipuna Hospice, Starship, Tauranga Civic Choir, Live for More, Homes of Hope, Omokoroa Sports & Recreation to name a few.
Thank you
