Canvas Careers Showcase (for many years known as Rotary Career Expo) was on at the ASB Arena in Tauranga 11 and 12 August 2017 giving secondary students an opportunity to gather information and talk about their future learning.
The Young Innovator Awards now in its eight year was held on Thursday 10 August and was a spectacular lead in to Rotary Tauranga and Priority One’s Canvas Careers Showcase. With over 500 entries from intermediate and secondary schools in and around Tauranga an avid interest in science was apparent. Teachers, principals and families were in attendance offering encouragement and support.
Congratulations to all entrants and especially to finalists and winners.  An amazing amount of ideas, planning and execution produced very clever concepts, all of them with care and thought for their community.

Friday is the first day of Canvas Careers Showcase (for many years known as Rotary Career Expo) where secondary students from schools in the district are transported in buses funded by Tauranga Rotary. Students have the opportunity to gather information and talk with tertiary education providers, ITO’s, businesses, defence forces, Police and Fire to help them decide what their profession might be and what study or subjects they need to target.  Friday is all about school students.

Saturday gives these students a chance to come back with their families and friends to discuss in more depth, and gather information at a more leisurely pace. Canvas Careers Showcase is open to anyone interested in career and study opportunities.
With over 2000 people through the doors each year, Rotary Tauranga is very excited and proud to be a part of this service to our young adults. Our thanks to everyone who participates and works very hard to make Canvas Careers Showcase the success it is.
